POTTING, ENCAPSULANTS & CONFORMAL COATINGS

Encapsulants and potting compounds are resins or adhesives that are used to encapsulate circuit boards and semiconductors, fill containers of electronic components, and infiltrate electrical coils. All conformal coatings contain a UV indicator enabling blacklight visualization of the coating. Encapsulants cure in seconds upon exposure to UV and/or visible light to produce tough, flexible encapsulants for bare die, wire bonds, or integrated circuits (IC).

Suggested Usage:
Conformal Coatings protect rigid and flexible printed circuit boards from environmental contaminants and vibration. Encapsulants and silicone potting materials are used for protecting sensitive electronic components from extreme environments.
Conformal Coatings - are used to protect rigid and flexible printed circuit boards from environmental contaminants and vibration. Quantum Silicones' conformal coating products are very low viscosity, one-component, thermally cured liquid silicone elastomers. These products have excellent dielectric properties and can withstand temperatures from -60 to 2400C.

Encapsulants
and silicone potting materials are the ideal choice for protecting sensitive electronic components from extreme environments. Silicone encapsulants and silicone potting materials withstand temperatures from -115 to 3000C while protecting the components from vibration, moisture and atmospheric contaminants. Chemical Concepts product line consists of both tin and platinum curing systems in a variety of durometers and cure speeds, We also have thermally conductive encapsulants and potting materials and flame resistant adhesives that meet UL 94 V-0 requirements

RTV Elastomeric Coatings
, the newest of these, are designed to provide fast to very fast room temperature curing in a soft, stress-relieving material.
RTV Elastoplastic Coatings is either traditional or ozone-safe solvent-based coatings that provide good abrasion resistance with the expected good board protection.
The Solventless Heat Cure Coatings, is fast heat-curing one-part coatings that again combine excellent protection in a soft, stress-relieving material.
All conformal coatings contain a UV indicator enabling blacklight visualization of the coating.

Light curing conformal coatings cure tack free in seconds upon exposure to ultraviolet and/or visible light. Each conformal coating is solvent-free  and low VOC, eliminating the need for solvent handling while enhancing worker safety and minimizing environmental impact.

Conformal coatings are one part, so no mixing is required and dispensing is trouble free. Each conformal coating is electrically insulated and may be applied over the entire surface or in select areas of a printed board to provide protection from service environments.
