Description
ARALDITE® 2019 is a two-component structural epoxy adhesive paste formulated for high strength and toughness. It is designed for bonding composites, especially CFRP, and is also suitable for metals, ceramics, thermoplastics, and other common substrates.
This black epoxy adhesive contains spacers to maintain a minimum bond line thickness of 0.05 mm. It is a good fit for composite assemblies that require high lap shear strength, toughness, resilience, and temperature resistance up to 284°F.

Performance in Production
- Designed for high-strength bonding of composites, especially CFRP.
- Bonds a wide variety of materials, including metal, composite, thermoplastics, and ceramics.
- Thixotropic mixed viscosity helps the adhesive stay in place during application.
- 100–120 minute pot life provides extended working time for larger or more detailed assemblies.
- Contains spacers to help maintain a minimum 0.05 mm bond line thickness.
- A 0.05 to 0.10 mm adhesive layer normally provides the greatest lap shear strength.
- For bond lines below 0.5 mm, components should be assembled within 60 minutes after adhesive application.
- For higher bond line thicknesses, components should be assembled within 30 minutes after adhesive application.
- Elevated temperature cure or post cure is recommended for optimum performance.
- Adhesive will solidify to a handleable state but will not fully cure below 140°F (60°C).
- Joint strength and durability depend on proper surface preparation, including degreasing and, when needed, abrasion or chemical etching.
- Tools should be cleaned before adhesive residue cures.
