Countertop Chip Repair – We’ve Got You Covered!

Chem-Set Chip Repair KitPicture this: one day  you notice your beautiful, flowing granite countertops in your kitchen marred by an unsightly crack right next to the undermount sink. What a nightmare! Granite is much too expensive to replace for a hairline crack, but that crack could allow water or foodborne bacteria to seep into the countertop and do some major damage.

Fortunately for you, we at Chemical Concepts are no strangers to cracks and chips in granite countertops. We understand how frustrating and potentially dangerous it can be to let a crack or chip go unnoticed; that’s why we created the Chem-Set CCA800 Glue Chip Repair Kit for stone!

What’s in This Kit?

The Chem-Set CCA800 Glue Chip Repair Kit contains:

  • 1 (1 oz.) bottle of CA5 Thin Set
  • 1 (1 oz.) bottle of CA2400 Thick Set
  • 1 (2 oz.) spray bottle of Quick Tack II Accelerator

While granite and natural stone are very robust surfaces from which countertops can be constructed, nothing is immune to the occasional chip or crack. When that happens, be prepared with Chem-Set CA5! This glue is an extremely low viscosity adhesive with little to no surface tension. The beauty of CA5 lies in its simplicity: simply run the adhesive along the crack or chip and it will fill right in. The glue cures in a matter of minutes, and any excess can be easily removed with a razor blade, leaving a smooth, sealed finish.

For larger gaps, cracks, or gluing poorly fitting materials, consider CA2400 Thick Set CA glue! Unlike CA5, which has an ultra-low viscosity for filling tiny hairline cracks, CA2400 is much thicker, with a viscosity more similar to honey. This glue is best suited to fill larger gaps or seal larger chunks missing from a wood or stone surface.

CA2400 is also incredibly easy to use – simply apply the adhesive over the crack or gap and allow it to settle completely into the gap. Once it’s settled, we recommend using our Quick Tack II accelerator (also included in the CCA800 Repair Kit) to ensure that the adhesive cures completely.
