New Chem-Set™ Fastener Released – Introducing: Keep-Nut™

Our team at Chemical Concepts is fascinated with finding new and innovative ways to help you anchor things together. Whether that is with adhesives or fasteners and hardware, we are proud when we can help you achieve your bonding goals.

Keep-NutWith this driving passion powering us, we’re pleased to announce a brand new fastening addition to our Chem-Set line. The Keep-Nut is a quick and easy press-in insert with mechanical self-anchoring that offers unrivaled strength and convenience. The Keep-Nut works to create a threaded seat on panels, however thin, and other materials like marble, granite, or stone. It’s also effective when used on composite, carbon, Corian®, HPL, glass and other compact materials.

Some benefits of using Keep-Nut include:

  • Easily used with CNC machines and standard tools
  • Quick assembly
  • No need for adhesives
  • Allows for an internal assembly with no external pieces
  • No tensile force on the receiving material when the insert is not pulled out

How quick and easy is it? These simple steps stand between you and complete install.

  1. 1. Prepare the hole and check the dimensions – The keep nut hole diameter is 15/32” with a hole depth of 7/32”, and you’ll want to use a 12 mil drill bit.
  2. 2. Install the Keep-Nut with pressure

Once these steps are completed, the insert is ready for assembling. As our brief video below shows, while the average pull-out strength is listed at 562lbs for a single insert, it took 1121lbs on a single insert to break the granite before the Keep-Nut even had an opportunity to fail.

The Keep-Nut works great for a variety of applications, including:

  • Undermount sinks and countertops
  • Ventilated facades
  • Wall-coverings
  • Décor and interiors
  • Furniture
  • Kitchen & sanitary elements
  • Funerary Art
  • And more!
