Product Spotlight – Pacer’s E-Z Fuse Tape

E-Z Fuse Tape

We touched on the airtight, waterproof sealing properties of Pacer’s E-Z Fuse Tape in our last blog, but this unique product deserves more than just a fleeting mention, that’s why we’re shining the spotlight on it with today’s product profile.

To say that E-Z Fuse Tape is versatile might be an understatement. It can be used to seal pool and spa joints or junctions, like we mentioned in Tuesday’s blog, but it can also effectively seal, protect, and repair bundling wires, electrical connections, and even sport and tool handles or grips.

E-Z Fuse Tape at a Glance

E-Z Fuse Tape, from Pacer Technology, is a self-fusing, insulator tape that comes in various sizes and colors, namely red, black, and white. This catch-all, general purpose tape material can be used on a host of applications in the automotive, marine, electrical, and plumbing industries.

Abilities & Functions

E-Z Fuse Tape comes with some special benefits that are a bit uncommon for a very easy-to-use tape. Its airtight, waterproof, and UV resistant features make it a very attractive product to have on hand for quick yet permanent fixes where the challenges of sun, water, and wind are prevalent. Because it’s self-fusing, no painstaking steps are needed after applying the tape to ensure a permanent hold – and permanent the hold is, designed to last and withstand the elements. Another key feature is its flexibility, allowing the tape material to conform and stretch to seal in and around odd shapes, forms, and corners. Yet another plume in the cap of this all-purpose sealing tape is its temperature resistance. It is UL listed as an insulator for up to 600V and 1760 degrees F, proof enough that it’s a preferred choice for electrical contractors looking to protect connections and wire.

Notable Functions:

  • Water and pipe repair
  • Weatherproofing electrical connections
  • Fittings and hose seals
  • Boat rigging
  • Sport and tool handles
  • Emergency O-rings and seals
  • Radiator hose repair

Application

Applying E-Z Tape is as simple as four very straightforward steps:

  1. Apply the tape firmly so that a full wrap is completed and it wraps back onto itself.
  2. Maintain a good stretch of the tape as you continue to wrap, making each new layer a “half lap” of the previous layer.
  3. Make sure that the final wrap is pressed down onto the prior wraps. If you’re applying multiple pieces, make a habit of starting the end of each new piece in contact with the prior wrap.
  4. Apply plenty of pressure and stretch with the final layer(s).
