Product Spotlight: Chem-Set TrimGrip

Chem-Set’s TrimChem-Set TrimGripGrip adhesive bonding system is the perfect complement to any contractor’s tool bag this summer. Due to its versatility and strength too, it would be put to good use at any millwork shop, with the ability to fill holes, gaps, and joints in doors, columns, cupolas, rails, furniture, and more.

TrimGrip is a 100% reactive, toughened structural acrylic formulated for bonding wood, metals, PVC, fiberglass, plastic, and more. The white, non-sagging adhesive can actually be sanded to shape once cured, making it a popular choice for trim boards, fascia, and PVC.

Intended Uses

The process of installing trim board around windows, doors, or exterior fascia often results in gaps, joints and nail holes. In order to create a seamless and smooth look, these areas must be filled with the proper adhesive. TrimGrip not only occupies these spaces seamlessly, but can be sanded, painted over, and owns UV stable and waterproof properties.

Gaps – Gaps created by trim board coming up against the side of a house can be sealed and made uniform by TrimGrip.

Nail Holes – Nail holes are inevitable, but with TrimGrip they can be addressed simply by filling the hole and wiping away any excess adhesive.

Trim- No matter if it’s a window, door, or fascia board, TrimGrip can bond and fill boards to create a custom look. TrimGrip works well with CPVC trim boards like AZEK®, Koma®, Fypon®, and more.

Joints – The joints created when two trim boards meet can easily be filled and sealed with TrimGrip. (see the picture below)

Millwork Uses

It is true, TrimGrip can be used effectively on things like columns, cupolas, pergolas, and doors, mainly in filling gaps, joints and holes in order to promote a custom and uniform milled look. It can also be used with the following applications:

Bead Board – Use TrimGrip on finished porches to bond CPVC bead along the ceiling. It can be used either outdoors near the porch entrance or inside the living room.

Mailboxes – Use TrimGrip to customize mailboxes with a newspaper slot or planter box.

Pediments – Create custom window dressings by laminating boards together for thicker dimensions using TrimGrip.

Laminating – TrimGrip can be leveraged in a mill setting to laminate CPVC boards to create thicker dimensions. This allows shops to cut multiple parts conveniently and economically.

Trellises – Nail holes in decorative lattice work can be eliminated with TrimGrip, creating a smooth and nail-free surface.

TrimGrip comes in 50ml, 250ml, 400 ml, and 1500ml cartridges, plus 5 gallon buckets, with all of the accessories required for application, like manual guns and nozzles.
