We love being able to get input directly from our customers and other industry professionals about the types of products that they want and need. It was that type of direct input that helped us to develop the CounterPlate Plus, one of the largest brackets available in our popular CounterBalance line of countertop supports that are sturdy, safe, and non-intrusive.

Our customers were seeking help with a product designed to support counters that are mounted on knee or pony walls. Based on their input, we developed the CounterBalance CounterPlate Plus to provide a cost-efficient, quick, and easy install to support overhangs on stone and solid surface countertops.

After much testing, this design much outperformed the others in deflection, is easy to install and is extremely economical. It also outperformed similar L brackets without the spine. It had as much or less deflection as 1/2″ thick material without the associated cost, weight, shipping costs, and the need to route away so much wood, which can end up weakening the header board of the pony wall.

The CounterPlate Plus is designed to attach to half walls or pony walls, supporting overhangs on “breakfast bar” style countertops. This ”L” shaped bracket ties in to the vertical wall studs for improved strength and stability.

The sleek design of all of our CounterBalance products saves your customers from years of banging their knees on pricey corbels. Plus, they provide superior support and security all while their low profile keeps them hidden from view. It’s the countertop, after all, that should be the visual star of the show – and the CounterPlate Plus allows the countertop to shine with a clean “floating” look.

In short, the CounterBalance CounterPlate Plus provides a cost-efficient, quick, and easy install to support overhangs on stone and solid surface countertops.

Here are some of the specifics:

• 1/4” HRPO steel with black powder-coated finish for strength and durability-tested up to 500 lbs.
• The CounterPlate Plus supports up to an 18” overhang. Supports should be spaced no more than 16” to 20” apart for optimum performance.
• L shaped design and increased thickness for maximum support for larger overhangs.

The request for the larger CounterPlate Plus came after contractors  came to love the options available from other parts of the CounterBalance line. The multiple brace and bracket systems that CounterBalance manufactures are designed to support a wide variety of popular configurations including islands, peninsulas and breakfast bars.  The ease of installation and the discrete, aesthetically pleasing design are huge assets – and the economical prices seem to be appreciated as well.
