When it comes down to it, whether you are a general contractor, specialized stone fabricator, or just a homeowner, saved time is money saved; that’s where Chem-Set’s C31 Pro Bond Adhesion Promoter comes into play. The C31 not only promotes a strong and lasting bond for stone surfaces, it does so efficiently.  When you’re working with these natural or engineered stone surfaces, ‘cutting’ through the time-eating process of drying a freshly sawed stone edge is truly a bonus. The Product

Typically when preparing a surface for adhesion, particularly in the stone industry, a tedious and time-consuming process of torching, drying and fanning is required after a mitered edge is cut. The Chem-Set C31 works to eliminate the time spent in this process by allowing for an immediate bond on natural or engineered stone, even on surfaces that are still damp from wet saws, water jets or other water assisted cutting tools.

C-31 Advantages

• No need to fire up torches, dryers or fans, or wait for surfaces to thoroughly dry

All that’s needed before applying Pro Bond is a quick blow-off of the surface with an air hose to eliminate any standing water. After this is done, simply apply C31 to both sides of the joint and wipe off the surface with a dry rag. After this very simple step, your substrate is ready for bonding using our C-20 or C-30 series seaming adhesives.

Use in tandem with C20 or C30 seaming series

The C20 and C30 seaming adhesive products from Chem-Set are two-part methacrylates designed specifically for the seamless bonding of solid surfaces like natural or engineered stone. When used in tandem with Chem-Set’s C31 Pro Bond, very strong bonds can be achieved in a relatively short amount of time. This 1-2 punch (C31 promoter and C20/C30 seaming adhesive) creates a market standard bond and it’s why many seasoned countertop fabricators choose Chem-Set for their stone projects.

Other Adhesion Promoters from Chemical Concepts

Although the Chem-Set C31 is a handy option for countertop projects, there are many other primers and promoters available from Chemical Concepts that do the job.
