Chem-Set’s own 75 AM is a one component elastomeric hybrid adhesive sealant often advantaged in a wide variety of settings and applications. The Shin Etsu KE45T is a translucent one component silicone sealant that has the uncanny ability of withstanding very high temperatures for sustained periods of time (up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit long-term). The paste-like mixture cures at room temperature to a highly durable rubber that naturally repels and withstands moisture. The KE45T is best used on glass, many types of wood, clean metals, ceramics, natural and synthetic fibers, and more.
The KE45T, which comes in a 330ml tube, is a great general purpose sealant, but due to its unique make-up can also serve applications as specialized as electrical scenarios, often times used as electrical insulation. One other interesting feature of Shin Etsu’s KE45T, which speaks to its versatility, is its capacity to bond well to alkali materials like cement or mortar.
Rounding out our short list of top-selling sealants is Sika’s Sikaflex 201 one component polyurethane sealant. Sikaflex 201 is a highly elastic, strong sealant used most times with the sealing of exterior/interior joints, gaps and seams.
With unparalleled cut and tear resistance, the Sikaflex 201 is a preferred choice for sealing spaces and seams on aluminum, steel, and coated metal surfaces. The 201 formula can be painted, has good resistance to the elements and time, and is non-staining.
