Product Spotlight: Ruscoe’s Permanent Sealer
The Ruscoe Company is a common and reputable name in the world of adhesives and sealants that fit the bill for being ‘heavy duty,’ often leveraged in the construction industry where a rigid, enduring bond is required. Ruscoe’s Permanent Sealer, which comes in several different forms is no different, hence the name “permanent.” We’ll take a closer look at this professionally proven sealant in today’s blog and detail why this product is a must-have for home, marine, and automobile style applications.
It’s important to note as we begin that Ruscoe’s Permanent Sealer comes in three types and several colors or hues, which we’ll cover below.
Permanent Sealer Nitrile Base Sealant – This self-leveling, paintable, 10.3 Oz. cartridge is a highly versatile sealant that’s resistant to any and all outside variables and conditions, like acids, fungus, fuel, salt, and the hazards of extreme climates. Permanent Sealer’s general applications are listed below but some specific applications include storm doors, replacements windows, and other construction/maintenance style scenarios where water is a common challenge to a working bond. This Low VOC formulation is also useful with mobile homes, swimming pools or spas, and recreation vehicles like RV’s. Further, it can be used as well to bond standard building materials like concrete, fiberglass, and brick, which has earned it a fine reputation among professional contractors.

Permanent Sealer from Ruscoe forms a permanent, working bond that is highly flexible plus has the capacity to withstand extreme heat and cold. It comes in aluminum, white, and brown colors, and is best used on openings 1/18” or larger.
Permanent Sealer – 4 Oz. Tube – This low profile 4 Oz. tube is a thin viscosity version of its original formula (which we previewed above) that is ideal for small seams, with the ability to flow into the tiniest of openings. This product is easy to apply and small enough to keep on hand without cluttering up one’s shop or toolbox.
Permanent Sealer HV, or ‘High Viscosity,’ is a specialized 10.3 Oz. packaged sealant, which comes not only in aluminum, white, and brown, but also a clear color. This product is known for its minimal flow – maximum gap fill properties. It’s unique in that it exhibits non-sag capabilities but still provides unparalleled adhesion to many surfaces. It owns permanent flexibility too, good chemical resistance, and uncommon durability.

The Permanent Sealer HV should be used in vertical joints up to ½ “in width and can be applied at temperatures as low as freezing, and in wet conditions, including standing water.
