Description
IB4132 high tack acrylic runs a 0.5 mil clear PET carrier coated on both faces with 2.4 mils of HTA410 adhesive. That is twice the coat weight of the general purpose rubber grades in the Macbond line, and the adhesive is acrylic rather than rubber, which changes what the tape will do. HTA410 is solvent and UV resistant, so the bond does not soften under cleaning chemistry or break down behind glass. Both faces are protected by a two sided silicone coated 72# poly coated Kraft liner.
Where IB4132 high tack acrylic is used
Foam bonding is the standout. HTA410 takes instant adhesion to polyether polyurethane foams, a surface that defeats most general purpose adhesives. Beyond foam it bonds ABS, metals, polycarbonate, most foams, fabrics and HDPE, which covers the majority of general mounting and bonding work in an assembly cell. Felt and fabric bonding runs on it too. The 2.4 mil coat weight wets out into rough or uneven surfaces instead of bridging across them, so textured plastic and as cast metal both take a bond.
Rolls are 54 inches by 150 feet, a full converting width for slitting and rotary die cutting in house. Narrower slit widths can be quoted for a production run.
How IB4132 high tack acrylic performs
Static shear is rated 50+ hours to fail with 100% elongation. Initial tack is the defining property. Parts seize on contact across a wide substrate range, which is what makes this grade the answer when a rubber adhesive will not bite. Solvent and UV resistance separate it from the rubber grades, so it belongs in assemblies that see cleaners, fuels or daylight. The adhesive itself is clear, so the bond line reads as the carrier alone rather than a visible glue line. The moisture stable PCK liner holds dimension in humid plant conditions and converts cleanly on a rotary die.
Handling is straightforward. The liner is siliconized on both faces, so it releases from both adhesive sides as the roll feeds. Surface prep still decides the outcome on an acrylic this aggressive. Wipe the substrate clean and dry, then apply firm even pressure across the bond area so the heavier coat weight has a chance to wet out into the finish.

The decision between this and the 2.6 mil white polypropylene version of the same adhesive is a carrier decision, not an adhesive one. A clear PET core keeps the profile thin and the bond line invisible. A white polypropylene core adds opacity and stiffness for graphic work. Adhesion, chemical resistance and shear behavior stay the same across both. Compare carriers and coat weights across the transfer and double coated tape range, or see the full Macbond line at Mactac.
