Glue-on undermount sink anchors, also called undermount studs or bonded sink fasteners, mount a sink without drilling a single hole in the countertop. The 1-1/2 inch (38mm) stud base bonds to the underside of the top with Chem-Set 633 Quick Set Epoxy for natural stone or 605 Quick Set Acrylic for solid surface and quartz. After 45 minutes to 1 hour, the Z-shaped sink clip, washer, and wingnut carry the sink. Every kit ships with the correct adhesive for your material plus two F1CT fasteners for dishwasher mounting.

How the Install Works

Dispense adhesive until it flows from both A and B sides. Mix equal amounts in the cup, or purge a 6 to 8 inch bead through the mixing nozzle onto scrap.
Clean the bonding area and the stud base with alcohol. Both surfaces must be clean and dry.
Apply adhesive to the stud base and set it on the underside of the top around the sink cut-out.
Allow 45 minutes to 1 hour for handling strength. The adhesive continues curing for up to 24 hours.
Position the sink, mount the Z-shaped clip on the stud, add the washer, and tighten the wingnut.

What are glue-on undermount sink anchors?

Glue-on undermount sink anchors, also called undermount studs, sink studs, or bonded sink fasteners, are threaded studs on a flat 1-1/2 inch base plate that bond to the underside of a countertop with a two-part adhesive. A sink clip slides over the stud, then a washer and wingnut tighten to hold the sink against the top. No hole is drilled in the countertop.

What adhesive do you use to glue sink clips to granite or quartz?

Use Chem-Set 633 Quick Set Epoxy on granite, marble, concrete, and wood. Use Chem-Set 605 Quick Set Acrylic on solid surface, quartz, and engineered stone. These are two-part structural adhesives formulated for the substrate, not general purpose glue. All four kits ship with the correct adhesive for the material listed.

How long before I can hang the sink?

Allow 45 minutes to 1 hour for the adhesive to reach handling strength. The adhesive continues to cure for up to 24 hours after that.

How many anchors does an undermount sink need?

The 740K, 741K, 742K, and 743K kits each include 4 anchor sets, which covers a typical single or double bowl kitchen sink. Larger bowls, heavier composite and cast iron sinks, and long vanity runs may need more. Bulk hardware is stocked in 100-set kits. Call us with the sink and we will tell you what to run.

Can I mount a dishwasher with the same kit?

Yes. Each kit includes 2 F1CT dishwasher fasteners in addition to the 4 sink anchor sets. They bond the same way and give you a mounting point for the dishwasher bracket without drilling the underside of the top.

What is the difference between glue-on anchors and Keep-Nut press-in anchors?

Glue-on anchors bond to the surface and need cure time but require no drilling and no machine investment. Keep-Nut anchors are mechanical inserts set into a drilled hole, so there is no adhesive and no cure time, but you need a CNC router, a grinder, or the KDM115 drilling system. Both use the same sink clips and mounting hardware.

Do I still need silicone?

The anchors carry the sink. Silicone seals the joint between the sink flange and the underside of the top to keep water out. The two do different jobs and most installs use both.
