Chem-Set 743K Quartz & Solid Surface Sink Anchor Kit – 25ml Syringe

Description

The Chem-Set 743K mounts undermount sinks to solid surface, quartz, and engineered stone without drilling into the countertop. The 1-1/2 inch stud base bonds to the underside of the top with the included 605 Quick Set Acrylic, then the Z-shaped sink clip, flat washer, and wingnut carry the sink. 605 is a two-part methacrylate that dispenses as a non-sagging gel and builds strength fast, reaching 1,000 psi in 15 minutes at room temperature. This version ships with a 25ml hand syringe and mixing supplies instead of a cartridge and gun, so no dispensing equipment is needed.

Installation Steps

1. Remove the cap and push adhesive out in equal amounts into the provided mixing cup. Mix thoroughly with the mixing stick until the color is completely uniform.
2. Clean the area to be bonded and the base of the glue-on fastener with alcohol. Both surfaces must be clean and dry for good adhesion.
3. Apply 605 Acrylic to the base of the glue-on fastener and set it in position on the underside of the countertop around the sink cut-out. Position the fastener before the 3 to 6 minute working time expires.
4. Leave the fastener undisturbed until fixture time is reached. Allow 45 minutes to 1 hour before hanging the bowl and putting weight on the anchor.
5. Once the adhesive reaches handling strength, place the sink into position, mount the Z-shaped sink clip onto the fastener, add the washer, then tighten with the wingnut.

Working Notes

• Working time is 3 to 6 minutes from the moment the two parts are combined, and hand mixing happens inside that window, not before it. Have the bonding areas cleaned and the studs laid out before you mix.
• The kit includes two cups and two sticks, which supports mixing in two batches of two anchors rather than trying to place all four from one batch.
• After the working time expires, leave the fastener undisturbed until fixture time is reached. Moving it in between costs bond strength.
• Non-sagging gel consistency holds position on the underside of the top rather than running off the stud base during set.
• Apply between 65°F and 85°F. Colder slows the cure significantly and hotter speeds it up, which matters on winter and summer jobsites.
• Clean up before the adhesive cures. Soap and water works, as do citrus terpene or NMP-based cleaners. Cured material has to be scraped.
• No dispense gun, cartridge, or static mixers to carry, which makes this the better choice for service calls and single-sink jobs.
