Chem-Set™ has gone ahead and developed a flexible cyanoacrylate adhesive that has a high level of elongation. This is a new concept in the field of cyanoacrylate adhesives. They will offer a new level of flexibility, high elongation, and softness while maintaining the necessary set speed of standard cyanoacrylates.
These cyanoacrylates offer a new level of flexibility because of the softness and high elongation that will stretch up to 400%, while maintaining the necessary set speed of standard cyanoacrylates.
This is a change of direction from the cyanoacrylates that have previously been referred to as flexible solely because they were (by comparison) resilient. These are much more flexible than the previous grades such as 73X and 2050 cyanoacrylate. We have changed the mold!
Cyanoacrylates are single component adhesives, also known as industrial strength super glue, that cure rapidly (polymerization). When pressed into a thin film between parts, moisture is absorbed on the surface initiates the curing making a strong bond. No mixing required.
Chem-Set cyanoacrylate adhesive (also called industrial super glue) works by reacting to a very small amount of moisture on the surface that is being bonded. No mixing, no heating, no ovens, no specialty equipment is required. It’s that simple!
The Chem-Set Flexible Cyanoacrylate Adhesive simply has the ability to bond to anything, including plastics and metals, making it a preferred choice among businesses to create signs for their companies.

When applying this product to existing soft materials such as foam or soft plastics, the softness as well as flexibility will remain on the bonded surfaces. These highly flexible CA adhesives form a colorless bond, which provides excellent resistance to everyday occurrences.
This amazing new product comes in 4 varieties with all different key features:
- Chem-Set CA 71 (741) comes with a fast setting adhesive that has the elongation to 125% with a shore hardness of ~D50
- Chem-Set CA 73 (743) comes with a high elongation of up to 400% with a shore hardness of ~A60
- Chem-Set CA 73HT (743HT) comes with both high elongation and Thixotropic with an elongation of up to 350% while having a shore hardness of ~A60
- Chem-Set CA 78 (748) has high strength on metals and high viscosity with an elongation of 65%. This comes with a shore hardness of ~D30.
