Foster 40-80 Disinfectant guidance covers washable hard non-porous surfaces such as floors, walls, tables, countertops, metal, stainless steel, fiberglass, finished woodwork, vinyl, and plastic upholstery. It also addresses odor-causing bacteria and fungi on porous or semi-porous materials encountered during water-damage restoration, including carpet, carpet cushion, subfloors, drywall, trim, and framing lumber.
Application methods include wipe, cloth, mop, sponge, or coarse spray. The surface must remain visibly wet for the full contact time stated on the current label. Published guidance calls for at least 10 minutes of continuous wet contact for covered disinfecting uses. Do not dilute the product, and do not apply it by fogging unless a current approved label specifically permits that method.
