Permatex® Penetrating Grade Threadlocker Green

Permatex® Penetrating Grade Threadlocker Green is a medium strength anaerobic threadlocking material, which cures between engaged threads to help resist leakage, shock and vibration.

The product is a single component, anaerobic liquid that cures in the absence of air and when confined between close fitting metal surfaces. Because of its low viscosity and capillary action, the product wicks between engaged threads and eliminates the need to disassemble, apply product and then reassemble. The high prevailing torque provides vibration resistance to adjustment screws. Permatex® Penetrating Grade Threadlocker is ideal for all threaded fasteners ranging from #2 to 1/2″ (2.2 to 12mm) in size. The product can also fill porosity in welds, castings and powder metal parts. It offers excellent chemical resistance and temperature range of -54°C to +149°C (-65°F to +300°F). This product conforms to ASTM D5363 AN0261 (Mil-S-46163A, Type III, Grade R).

Ideas for Application

Suggested applications for automobile-related use include bolts on alternators, air conditioning belts and distributor clamps, carburetor adjustment screws, and hairline cracks.

Suggested applications for marine-related use include bolts on alternators, distributor clamps, carburetor adjustment screws, hairline or porosity cracks.

Additional general application suggestions include prevention of loosening and leakage of pre-assembled threaded fasteners and as a porosity sealant. This is particularly suitable for applications such as pre-assembled fasteners, adjustment screws, seal porous welds, seal porosity on brake unit housings, and seal brazed joints in cooling systems.

PERMATEX® Low Strength Threadlocker Purple

PERMATEX® Low Strength Threadlocker Purple is a low strength anaerobic threadlocking material, which cures between engaged threads to help resist leakage, shock and vibration.

The product is a single component, anaerobic liquid which cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces. It is ideal for fasteners under 1/4″ (6mm) that require occasional adjustment. This product offers excellent chemical resistance and a temperature resistance range of – 54°C to +149°C (-65°F to +300°F). Note that it is easily removable with hand tools for servicing requirements. Permatex® Low Strength Threadlocker Purple conforms to ASTM D 5363 AN0311 (Mil-S-46163A, Type II, Grade M).

Ideas for Application

Suggested applications for use related to motorcycles include all small diameter (under 1/4″) exterior bolts.

Additional general application suggestions include preventing loosening and leakage of threaded fasteners. This low strength thread locker is particularly suitable for applications such as set screws, adjustment screws, meters and gauges, relay lock screws, calibration screws, and choke assembly screws.
