PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT – H2O Glue’s New ‘Slip Grip’

We recently covered our participation in the annual Pool & Spa Show, which took place in late January (24-26) and was hosted this year by Atlantic City. Our booth (4009) featured several of our H2O Glue products, all of which have special interest with pool, spa, and pond manufacturers and installers. We showcased our patch kits, patented waterproof adhesives, and we unveiled the newest product to join the Chem-Set, H2O Glue team – H2O Glue Slip Grip. A perfect complement to our vinyl pool maintenance and repair repertoire, these easy-to-use grips add a much-needed safety component to your summertime haven.

Slip Grip is for use on vinyl, fiberglass, concrete, and gunite pools as well as vinyl and fiberglass pool steps. These underwater applied non-slip treads bolster safety plus you don’t need to drain your pool to apply them!

H2O Slip GripH2O Glue Slip Grip Profile

  • 23.875” in length, 2” wide, .065” thick
  • Slip resistant fiberglass make-up; comes in black but other colors are available upon request
  • Fiberglass strips are coated in a fine grit texture

Easy Setup

Installing Slip Grip strips is as easy as a few simple steps, outlined below.

  1. Cut the Slip Grip strips to your desired length using a hack saw or similar tool (32 teeth per inch blades work best). Lightly sand the cut edge.
  2. Clean the pool surface with a scrub pad to remove any algae or other residue.
  3. Apply H2O Glue’s Aquabonder adhesive to the backside of the strip; follow Aquabonder application instructions.
  4. Position Slip Grip in place. If performed underwater, remove excess adhesive by simply wiping away with a cloth. Otherwise you can remove excess adhesive with alcohol or acetone. For optimal results, place weights like bricks on slip grip treads for 10 minutes or so to ensure a strong hold.
  5. Remove the weights or bricks and enjoy a much safer pool or spa!

Use in combination with H2O Glue Aquabonder

Aquabonder is an underwater adhesive that can be used to repair pipes, skimmers, main drains, and other non-porous substrates including fiberglass, ABS, PVC, and of course, vinyl. Aquabonder is available as a part of our H2O Glue Pro Starter Kit (pictured below). This kit has all of the fixings necessary to make on-the-spot repairs that outlast temporary maintenance options, plus Aquabonder can be used to bond and seal Slip Grip treads.
