Description
The Techcon 400 Series 3cc lubricated piston seals against the inside wall of a syringe barrel, transferring plunger pressure into the fluid ahead of it while keeping the seal from binding as it travels the length of the barrel. The lubricated finish is built for manual and light air-assisted dispensing, where reducing wall friction directly improves bead consistency on lower-viscosity fluids.
Molded from thermoplastic rubber to the 3cc barrel bore, this piston is one of four standard 400 Series sizes (3cc, 5cc, 10cc, 30cc) that Techcon builds around a common barrel and plunger platform, so shops running mixed barrel sizes can standardize on the same piston chemistry and lubrication style across a line.
When lubricated syringe barrel pistons make sense
A lubricated piston is the right call for manual dispensing and light air pressure, where a dry piston can stick and release unevenly, producing a stepped or surging bead instead of a smooth one. Shops dispensing thin cyanoacrylates, light oils, or low-viscosity primers in 3cc barrels typically see the clearest improvement from switching to a lubricated piston over a dry one.
Matching piston to syringe barrel and dispenser
This piston is sized specifically for 3cc barrels. Using it in a different bore size will not seal correctly and will leak fluid past the piston under pressure. Pair it with the corresponding 3cc barrel and either a manual plunger or an air-powered dispenser body, depending on your production setup.
Chemical Concepts carries the full Techcon 400 Series platform, barrels, plungers, and pistons in every standard size, in our dispensing and mixing accessories category. Manufacturer specifications for the 400 Series line are available from Techcon.
