Description
EKAMESH 2 disc is a 6 inch, 400 grit abrasive disc for fine sanding work where dust extraction and a controlled finish matter. The Chemical Concepts product record describes a net pattern, aluminum oxide abrasive, and use on hardwood, particle board, lacquer sealer, solid surface, and veneer.
EKAMESH 2 disc Applications
- Fine sanding between finishing steps on wood, veneer, and solid surface parts.
- Preparing lacquer sealer and coated panels before the next finishing pass.
- Reducing airborne dust when paired with a compatible vacuum sanding pad.
- Sanding production parts where a smoother scratch pattern is needed.
- Shop finishing work that needs a 6 inch abrasive format in 400 grit.
Net abrasives are chosen because the open pattern allows dust to move through the disc instead of loading the face as quickly. Keep the backup pad clean, align the disc with the vacuum pattern, and replace the abrasive when the cut slows or the finish starts to vary. Run a test pass on scrap material before moving to a visible surface.
Use 400 grit as part of a sequence, not as a cure-all. Coarser steps should remove tool marks first, while finer steps refine the surface for finish, paint, polish, or bonding. Keep pressure even and let the abrasive do the work so heat and swirl marks stay under control. Vacuum collection also keeps inspection easier between passes.
