Description
This is the Araldite 2011 hardener (Part B) in a 5 gallon pail, the curing-agent side of Huntsman’s two-part toughened epoxy adhesive system. Pair with the matching 5 gallon pail of Part A resin to mix Araldite 2011, the workhorse general-purpose structural epoxy used across industrial assembly for metal, ceramic, rigid plastic, and composite bonding.
Where Araldite 2011 hardener fits
Araldite 2011 is a 100 to 80 mix-ratio (by weight) toughened epoxy paste with about a 100 minute pot life at room temperature. It cures clear amber and gives a tough, semi-flexible bond line with good peel and impact strength. Typical applications include metal-to-metal bonding on tooling and jigs, electronics potting, sheet metal assembly, composite repair, and general MRO repair work where a single-product epoxy needs to bond a wide substrate range.
How Araldite 2011 hardener performs
Working life at 25 C is approximately 100 minutes, with handling strength reached in about 8 hours. Full cure runs 24 hours at room temperature or accelerates with mild heat. The toughened formulation gives lap shear values in the 17 to 27 MPa range on aluminum after proper surface prep. Service temperature spans roughly -40 to +80 C. Buying the resin and hardener as matched 5 gallon pails is the cost-effective format for shops that go through quart and gallon kits on a regular cadence. See the manufacturer’s technical data on Huntsman‘s Araldite product line.
