Under the EPA’s final risk management rule for methylene chloride (TSCA section 6), the original methylene chloride and trichloroethylene formulation can no longer be supplied for most industrial uses. Closest direct replacement (non-flammable, methylene chloride free)

About the Original M Solvent Cleaner
The Chem-Set M Solvent Cleaner was a non-flammable solvent cleaner historically used to remove adhesive overspray and clean adhesive spray equipment. The 55 gallon drum size served high-volume shop consumption, central chemical storage, and refill programs supporting spray operations, line maintenance, and cleanup across bonding departments. The original solvent system combined methylene chloride and trichloroethylene with a VOC content of 1497.7 g/L per EPA Method 24.
Regulatory Background on the M Solvent Cleaner Alternative Path
The EPA finalized a risk management rule for methylene chloride under TSCA section 6, prohibiting most industrial and consumer uses.
