Description
*Please note this product has been discontinued as per the EPA ban on methylene chloride.*
The Chem-Set M Solvent Cleaner (AW-MSOLVENT-55D) is no longer available for sale. Under the EPA’s final risk management rule for methylene chloride (TSCA section 6), the original methylene chloride and trichloroethylene formulation can no longer be supplied for most industrial uses. This page remains active so customers can find a current M Solvent Cleaner alternative for adhesive spray equipment cleanup.

About the Original M Solvent Cleaner
The Chem-Set M Solvent Cleaner was a non-flammable solvent cleaner historically used to remove adhesive overspray and clean adhesive spray equipment. The 55 gallon drum size served high-volume shop consumption, central chemical storage, and refill programs supporting spray operations, line maintenance, and cleanup across bonding departments. The original solvent system combined methylene chloride and trichloroethylene with a VOC content of 1497.7 g/L per EPA Method 24.
Regulatory Background on the M Solvent Cleaner Alternative Path
The EPA finalized a risk management rule for methylene chloride under TSCA section 6, prohibiting most industrial and consumer uses. Trichloroethylene is also subject to a separate final EPA rule under TSCA section 6 that phases out most uses. For current workplace guidance, see OSHA methylene chloride guidance.
