Description
B-Lok brass insert is a press-in and expansion threaded insert for thermoset plastics that need strong, reliable internal threads.
B-Lok brass insert benefits
- Press-in plus expansion action gives high pull-out and torque resistance.
- External profile locks into rigid thermoset materials without cracking the laminate.
- Supports repeated assembly and disassembly with stable clamp load.
- Supplied in natural brass with good corrosion resistance and conductivity.
B-Lok brass insert applications
- Electrical enclosures, switchgear and molded control housings.
- Industrial equipment panels and covers that need serviceable threaded points.
- Appliance, lighting and energy systems built from thermoset resins.
Installation and performance
The B-Lok expansion geometry lets the insert press into a straight hole, then expand to grip the wall. Correct hole size and insertion force help the ribs bite cleanly into the thermoset and create a strong mechanical lock.
Expansion can occur during the press operation or with a dedicated tool. We recommend trials on sample parts to confirm hole diameter, expansion stroke and final pull-out and torque values before releasing a production process.
Sizing, materials and availability
B-Lok 841 inserts are produced in brass and supplied in their natural finish for general industrial use. Standard metric and UNC internal threads are available to match common fastener sizes.
