Description

Historic Restoration Mortar is a two-component, fast setting, lime-based, latex modified patching mortar built for stone repair work where the finish has to read as natural limestone, not a modern patch. Mixed at a 5 to 2 ratio, it sets in about 30 minutes at 75 degrees, so crews are not waiting around between steps on a repair schedule.

Where Historic Restoration Mortar Is Used

Masons use this mortar on historical building restoration, filling Dutchman joints, and patching pits, holes, and chipped edges on steps, sills, and stone trim. The mortar can also go on as a slurry coat over larger repair areas. Because it resembles a natural limestone finish once cured, it works on visible repair surfaces where color and texture matching carry as much weight as structural bond strength.

How Historic Restoration Mortar Performs

The mix stays workable through a 20 minute pot life, then sets within 30 minutes and reaches full cure at 24 hours. It is UV stable, breathable so moisture can move through the patch rather than trap behind it, and finishes without sanding or grinding. It works faster than Last Patch Limestone for crews who want a quicker turnaround on smaller repairs.
