Description
F1 Female Bonding Fastener hardware adds a 1/4-20 threaded attachment point without welding or drilling through the finished panel. The 23 mm round base is designed to be bonded to metal, plastic, composite, and other prepared surfaces. Its female thread accepts a matching bolt and can pair with an M1 male threaded post when the assembly needs aligned hardware on both sides.
Where Bonded Female Threads Help
Use the fastener in access panels, enclosures, transportation interiors, signs, fabricated covers, composite structures, and equipment assemblies. Adhesive mounting keeps the opposite face free of weld marks, drilled holes, and exposed hardware. The round base distributes load into the adhesive layer and can be placed in through-hole or blind-hole assembly designs. It also avoids direct welding heat on thin panels or finished parts.
Surface Preparation and Installation
Choose an adhesive that matches the substrate, coating, operating temperature, and expected load. Clean and prepare the bonding area according to the adhesive instructions. Apply enough material to wet the full base without trapping a large void, then seat the fastener at the planned location. Hold it square while the adhesive fixtures and reaches handling strength. Keep adhesive out of the internal thread. Complete torque and load testing only after the bond reaches the specified cure.

Joint performance depends on the adhesive, bond-line thickness, surface preparation, cure conditions, and applied loading. Validate the complete assembly before releasing it for production or field service. Protect the thread during finishing and inspect the bonded base before final assembly.
