Description
This light gray calk is GPS1, a one-component polyurethane sealant for non-sag joints on exterior and interior construction details. The 10.1 oz cartridge fits standard caulking guns and is used where a flexible, paintable seal is needed around dissimilar building materials such as wood, masonry, metal, vinyl trim, and roofing accessories.
Where This Calk Gets Used
GPS1 is built for general sealing installations rather than structural bonding. It is a practical match for roof flashing, soffit and fascia joints, termination bar details, perimeter gaps, and mixed-material transitions where movement is expected after installation. The light gray color blends into concrete, metal, stone, and painted trim areas better than bright white on many commercial and residential projects.
The product is moisture curing and gun grade, so it tools into vertical or overhead joints without slumping out of the bead before cure. Published GPS1 data describes the material as water-free and polyurethane based, with common service exposure across a broad temperature range. As with any one-part sealant, surface preparation and joint design matter. Clean, dry, sound substrates give the bead the best chance to wet the sides of the joint and move without tearing.
How This Calk Holds Up
GPS1 is intended to remain durable and flexible after cure, which is why it is used on building-envelope details that expand, contract, and see weather. It typically does not require priming on many common construction substrates, but field adhesion testing is still a smart step when the surface is unusual, dusty, painted, or weathered. Tool the bead soon after gunning, keep the joint within the recommended width and depth, and protect the fresh sealant from disturbance while it skins and cures.
