Description

Chem-Set M1 bonding stud adds a male threaded attachment point to a panel without drilling through the face or applying welding heat. This configuration combines the M1 stud style with an RB38 round base, mild-steel construction, a 1/4-20 thread, and a 2-inch stud length. It is intended for adhesive mounting where the finished side of the work should remain intact.

Where the Chem-Set M1 Bonding Stud Is Used

Bonding studs support brackets, clips, covers, cable routing, light hardware, and removable components on metal, composite, stone, solid-surface, and other panels that can accept the selected adhesive system. The round base spreads the bonded area around the stud rather than concentrating the attachment at a drilled hole. This approach can also avoid heat marks, coating damage, backside protrusions, and other changes associated with welding or through-fastening.

Fit and Installation Planning

Confirm that a 1/4-20 male thread and a 2-inch projection match the mating hardware and available clearance. Select an adhesive compatible with both the mild-steel base and the receiving substrate. Prepare both bond surfaces according to the adhesive instructions, apply material across the base with complete wetting, place the fastener at the marked location, and fixture it without shifting through the required set period. Load the stud only after the adhesive has reached the cure state specified for the application.
