Primer 8 is aimed at addition-cure silicone formulations and electronics manufacturing parts where the substrate is smooth, transparent, or difficult for silicone to wet on its own. CHT notes that this primer is carried in alcohols and is designed not to haze, crack, or craze polycarbonate or acrylic when used correctly. That makes it useful around optical covers, light pipes, plastic housings, display assemblies, and clear parts where a primer mark would be unacceptable.

Apply only to clean, dry surfaces. Remove oil, grease, release agent, sanding dust, and handling residue before coating the part. The primer should leave a thin film after the carrier solvent evaporates, not a puddled layer. Trial a small area on a new plastic before releasing a production run.
