Description

The 18 inch island arm bracket mounts to the side of a vertical stud and extends beneath an island, peninsula, or bar top. It supports the countertop itself where a floating overhang is needed without a visible corbel or floor leg; sink-clip hardware serves a separate fastening role beneath the counter.

18 Inch Island Arm Bracket for Countertop Support

The two hardware types solve different parts of a countertop installation. Sink clips hold the bowl against the underside of the cutout. The Float Frame Island Arm transfers an overhang load into wall framing. Installers can use both on the same project, but the bracket must be sized and fastened independently from the sink mounting hardware. The side-mount design avoids routing a channel across the top of the half wall and leaves the horizontal arm ready to support stone or solid-surface material.

Island Arm Bracket Fitment

Select this model when the framing can accept a side-mounted bracket and the counter layout calls for an 18 inch maximum counter dimension. The support arm is 16 inches long, dimension A is 18 inches, dimension B is 19.5 inches, and the stated overhang is 6 inches. The installation sheet recommends spacing brackets no more than 32 inches on center for standard countertop materials. Mount the top hole first, level each arm into the same plane, then fasten the remaining side-flange holes to the stud.
