Description
The countertop protection film from Chemical Concepts is a 4.0 mil polyethylene film with a medium-high tack pressure-sensitive adhesive, supplied in 30 inch by 600 foot rolls and engineered to protect granite, marble, quartz, and engineered stone slabs through storage, fabrication, shipping, and on-site delivery. The 40L60 film grade balances enough tack to stay put through handling with clean peel-off that leaves no residue on polished stone surfaces.
Where this countertop protection film fits
Fabrication shops, distributors, and installers use the countertop protection film during the steps where finished slab surfaces are most exposed to damage. That includes overnight storage on shop racks, transit on truck or trailer to the install site, on-site staging during cabinet prep, and the post-install period before final cleanup. The film blocks abrasive grit, moisture, foot traffic marks, and casual contact damage that would otherwise show as scratches, swirl marks, or surface stains on a polished slab.

Applying and removing the countertop protection film
Apply to a clean, dry stone surface at room temperature for best adhesion. Press out air pockets with a soft squeegee or felt block. The film bonds within minutes and reaches full tack within a few hours. Remove by pulling slowly at a low angle within the film’s stated application window, which is typically 30 to 90 days depending on UV exposure and ambient temperature. Outdoor or high-heat exposure shortens the safe removal window because adhesive crosslinking accelerates under UV and heat.
