Description
Insulcast I-Cast 140 FR is a flame retardant, highly thermally conductive epoxy potting compound for electronics that run hot and must survive heat, moisture, and vibration. Pour or pump it around the assembly and it cures to a hard protective mass that keeps the finished part working in the field.
Insulcast I-Cast 140 FR Benefits
- Seals out moisture, dust, and contaminants
- Cushions components against shock and vibration
- Moves heat away from hot-running parts at 2.3 W/mK
- Meets UL 94 V-1 for fire-safety requirements
- Holds strong dielectric isolation at 420 V/mil
- Handles a wide -55 to 155C service range
Common Applications
- Potting power supplies, transformers, and coils
- Sealing sensors, connectors, and control modules
- Protecting LED and lighting electronics
- Encapsulating medical device electronics
- EV and e-mobility power electronics

Surface Prep and Use
Mix the resin with Insulcure 11B curing agent at 100 to 3-4 by weight until uniform. Pour or pump around the assembly and degas under vacuum for a void-free pot in critical work. Cure on the schedule that fits the mass, then post-cure for 4 hours at 150C for full properties.
