Description
Insulcast MRTV 9 is a two-part RTV silicone potting compound that protects electronics from heat, moisture, and vibration. Mix Part A and Part B, then pour or pump it around an assembly and it cures to a tough, resilient mass that keeps the finished part running in the field. It is thermally conductive and rated UL 94 V0.
Insulcast MRTV 9 Benefits
- Seals out moisture, dust, and contaminants
- Cushions components against shock and vibration
- Carries heat away from hot-running parts (0.26 W/mK)
- Meets UL 94 V0 for flame-retardant requirements
- Strong dielectric protection (550 V/mm) for reliable electrical isolation
- Wide service range from -55 to 204 C
Common Applications
- Potting power supplies, transformers, and coils
- Sealing sensors, connectors, and control modules
- Protecting LED and lighting electronics
- Encapsulating medical device electronics
- EV and e-mobility power electronics

Surface Prep and Use
Mix Part A and Part B at 100:10 by weight and stir to a uniform color. Pour or pump the mixed compound around the assembly, then degas under vacuum for a void-free pot in critical work. Cure 16 to 24 hr at 25C, or accelerate at 50C to 65C. Clean, dry surfaces give the best adhesion.
