Description
Status: Discontinued. LORD has discontinued the LORD 206 acrylic adhesive 5 gallon pail and we have no stock. Call (800) 220-1966 and we will help you pick a replacement.
LORD 206 was a long working time acrylic adhesive that bonds prepared or unprepared metals and plastics when cured with LORD Accelerator 17 or 19. If you need a LORD 206 replacement, we suggest the LORD 201, 204 and 406 pails listed below.
What Changes When You Switch
These are the LORD 206 numbers to compare against the data sheet for whichever grade you move to.
- Working time: LORD 206 runs 12 to 14 minutes at 75°F (24°C). Check the replacement against your assembly cycle.
- Viscosity: LORD 206 is 20,000 to 80,000 cP at 77°F (25°C). A different viscosity can change how the adhesive flows and holds position on your parts.
- Accelerator and mix ratio: LORD 206 mixed with Accelerator 17 at 10:1 or Accelerator 19 at 10:5 by volume. Accelerator 4, the no-mix option, has been discontinued. Confirm the ratio for the new grade on its data sheet before you change dispensing equipment.
- Cured color: LORD 206 cures tan to green with Accelerator 19 and black with Accelerator 19 Black. Check cured color on the replacement if appearance matters.
- Shelf life: LORD 206 is rated six months under 80°F (27°C) in the original unopened container. Check the replacement data sheet and date your stock.
Run a trial on your own substrates before you change a production process.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is LORD 206 discontinued?
Yes. LORD has discontinued the LORD 206 acrylic adhesive 5 gallon pail. LORD has also marked the LORD 206 data sheet obsolete. We have no LORD 206 in stock. Call (800) 220-1966 and we will help you pick a replacement.
What is the replacement for LORD 206?
We suggest LORD 201, LORD 204 and LORD 406 in 5 gallon pails. They are replacement options, not drop-in matches, so check working time, viscosity and cured color against your process and run a trial before you switch production.
Which accelerator does LORD 206 use?
LORD 206 cures with LORD Accelerator 17 or 19, which are mixed into the adhesive before application. Accelerator 19 comes in off-white or black. Accelerator 4, the no-mix option applied to the substrate before the adhesive, has been discontinued. The pail SKUs are listed in the accelerator table above.
How do I match LORD 206 on an old purchase order or label?
Look for LORD 206, also written 206/19 when paired with Accelerator 19. Our SKU for the 5 gallon pail is LOR3003516. If your paperwork uses a different part number, call us and we will match it.
How long can I keep LORD 206 in stock?
LORD rates LORD 206 at six months under 80°F (27°C) in the original unopened container. Storage at 40 to 50°F (4 to 10°C) gives the longest shelf life. If you store it cool, let the pail return to room temperature before use.
