Description
LORD 363A/B structural epoxy adhesive is a fast-setting, two-component system supplied in a 50 ml cartridge for bonding sheet molded compound (SMC), wood, and fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP). Its 1:1 mix ratio supports meter-mix dispensing, while the short work time helps fabrication and repair teams move assemblies through fixtures quickly.
Where LORD 363A/B Structural Epoxy Adhesive Fits
Use this adhesive for rigid panel, composite, and wood assemblies that need fast room-temperature handling strength. Typical work includes SMC panel repair, FRP fabrication, and structural bonding where a self-leveling epoxy can wet prepared surfaces before cure. It contains no solvent and is nonflammable as supplied, but it is an industrial adhesive and should be used only with the safety practices and substrate preparation specified for the application.
Application and Cure
- Scuff and clean the bonding surfaces to remove contamination and weak surface layers.
- Dispense equal volumes of Parts A and B through a compatible 1:1 cartridge system.
- Mix until the material is uniform, then apply within the available work time.
- Assemble and fixture the parts before the adhesive begins to set.
- Keep the joint stable until handling strength develops, then allow full cure before service.
At 75°F, the stated work time is about 3 to 5 minutes for a 54 gram mass. Handling strength typically develops in 15 to 30 minutes, with full room-temperature cure in about 4 to 6 hours. Heat can shorten cure time when the parts and process permit it. Actual timing depends on bond-line thickness, mixed mass, temperature, and substrate conditions, so verify the process on production parts.
