Description
Lord 7545 urethane adhesive is an equal-mix, two-component structural urethane that bonds FRP, SMC, and other plastics with little surface preparation. This item is the curative side of that system, supplied in bulk in a straight-side pail to pair with the matching resin for high-volume dispensing.
Where the Lord 7545 urethane adhesive fits
The system bonds FRP and SMC panels, primed metals, and many combinations of dissimilar substrates found in transportation, trailer, and industrial assembly. It stays in place when applied to vertical or overhead surfaces, so crews can bond large parts without slump and keep parts in position while the joint develops strength. It is a common choice on transportation panels, enclosures, and composite housings where the bonded joint has to survive road vibration, weather, and wash-down cycles.
How the Lord 7545 urethane adhesive holds up
The mixed adhesive builds high strength and durability for structural joints, runs a 1:1 ratio by volume, and reaches full strength in about 24 hours at 75 degrees F. Modest heat up to 250 degrees F speeds the cure. It exceeds U.S. DOT non-flammability requirements, resists weathering, humidity, and salt spray, and stays solvent resistant once cured. The set time can be tuned with the curative and cure temperature, so a shop can hold parts briefly for handling strength or let them build to full cure before shipping.
