Description

This 11/16 inch ID EPR O-ring is one of the dispensing valve parts specified when the fluid being dispensed is aggressive enough to swell or degrade a standard nitrile seal. EPR (ethylene propylene rubber) holds up against many solvents, ketones, and polar fluids that would shorten the service life of a Buna seal in the same valve. It ships in packs of 10 for bench-level spares.

When these dispensing valve parts make sense

Reach for EPR instead of Buna-N when the dispensed material, cleaning solvent, or line-flush chemical is solvent-based or ketone-based. Using the wrong elastomer in that environment leads to premature swelling, softening, or seal failure well before a normal maintenance interval, which shows up as material weeping past the seal or a valve that will not hold its set pressure. Tracking which valves run solvent-heavy materials makes it easier to standardize on EPR across the whole line instead of guessing per station and reordering the wrong seal twice.

Servicing valves with these dispensing valve parts

Depressurize the station, pull the valve per the service manual, and check the bore for swelling residue from the old seal before fitting the replacement. Confirm the new o-ring seats fully in its groove before reassembly, then cycle the valve a few times on scrap material to confirm shot size and shutoff before returning it to production. Note the seal material on the valve tag so the next technician does not default back to Buna by mistake.
