Description
Permabond® QFS16 is a high-performance cyanoacrylate activator designed to accelerate adhesive cure speed, improve bonding on porous surfaces, and minimize stress cracking in plastics. It is particularly effective for difficult-to-bond materials such as passivated metals, aged PVC, and acidic surfaces like wood.
QFS16 enables cyanoacrylates to cure more effectively in gaps, on porous surfaces, and in wire tacking applications, making it an essential production aid for industrial assembly, electronics, and precision manufacturing. Unlike some activators, QFS16 reduces frosting and fogging, ensuring clean, professional-looking bonds.
This activator meets A-A-3097 (All Types of Type/Class) specifications, making it compliant for military, aerospace, and industrial applications.
For customers seeking alternatives to Loctite® 7113, 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ AC09, or Permatex® CA Activator, Permabond QFS16 provides a reliable, non-ozone-depleting solution.

Applications
- Accelerating cyanoacrylate adhesive curing on difficult-to-bond surfaces
- Improving bonding on porous materials like wood, foam, and ceramics
- Eliminating frosting and stress cracking in plastic assemblies
- Speeding up production processes in medical device and electronics assembly
- Post-application curing of excess adhesive fillets and wire tacking applications
Directions for Use
- Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and grease-free before applying QFS16.
- Apply Permabond QFS16 by wiping, brushing, spraying, or dipping one component.
- Allow QFS16 to fully evaporate before applying adhesive to avoid solvent entrapment.
- Apply cyanoacrylate adhesive to the untreated surface, then mate the parts quickly.
- Do not apply adhesive directly to the treated surface, as premature curing may occur.
- For large gaps (>20 mil), activator may be applied to both surfaces.
- For post-application curing, lightly spray or drip activator onto excess adhesive.
🔹 Important: Do not mix Permabond QFS16 directly with cyanoacrylate adhesives.
