Description
Permabond TA430 Structural Acrylic Adhesive is a two-part methacrylate built for shop and field bonding where Permabond TA430 needs to grab quickly on metal, ceramic, wood, and many engineering plastics. It cures at room temperature, handles close-fitting joints, and uses Permabond Initiator 41 or 41M instead of a static mixer, which makes it useful for maintenance teams, fixture builders, and general assembly work.
Permabond TA430 Benefits
- Room-temperature cure supports repairs and assembly work without ovens or heated fixtures.
- Good peel performance helps joints tolerate vibration and service movement better than a brittle adhesive.
- 130 mL packaging fits lower-volume production, bench repairs, and field kits.
- No-mix system with external initiator reduces waste when crews are bonding small batches or irregular parts.
- Published data lists about 3,000 psi tensile shear strength on grit-blasted steel after cure.
The current Permabond technical data sheet lists a working life of 3 to 5 minutes, fixture time of 8 to 12 minutes, and bondline capability up to 0.5 mm. That makes the adhesive a practical fit for metal brackets, trim pieces, ceramic hardware, and mixed-material subassemblies that need a fast turnaround without a long clamp schedule.
Common Applications for Structural Acrylic Adhesive
- Bonding metal brackets, panels, and formed parts in industrial assembly.
- Joining ceramic components and wood parts in fabricated products.
- Repair work on close-fitting joints where a quick fixture is important.
- Mixed-material bonding on selected thermoplastics called out by the manufacturer.
