Description
QGel 315 is a clear, very soft, tough silicone gel encapsulant from CHT Group, formulated to hold together under repeated flexing while still cushioning components the way a standard soft gel does. It suits assemblies that need both shock absorption and a fill that resists tearing during handling, transport, or later field service.
Where This Encapsulant Is Used
Automotive electronics, industrial sensors, and outdoor lighting drivers use QGel 315 where the potted fill has to survive years of vibration, thermal cycling, and occasional field servicing without splitting at the edges. The added toughness over a standard soft gel matters most on assemblies that get handled or partially opened for diagnostics after the initial cure. The clear finish also lets a technician confirm component placement and check for voids before the unit ships, and the tear-resistant surface holds up when a probe or test lead has to reach a component through the potted layer.
Encapsulant Cure and Mixing
QGel 315 mixes one part to one part. Published supplier data lists a 24-hour room-temperature cure and separately identifies heat cure as required. Because those statements are not interchangeable, validate the production cure cycle against the current CHT technical data sheet before qualifying a process. The mixed gel pours and self-levels into moderate cavity geometries, and the cured fill stays soft and resilient rather than stiffening with age. Keep the work area free of dust while the material is liquid so nothing settles into the surface before cure.

| SKU | QUA QGEL 315 |
| Manufacturer | CHT Group |
| Chemistry | Moderately cross-linked silicone gel, tough grade |
| Appearance | Clear |
| Mix Ratio | 1:1 |
| Cure Schedule | Confirm current CHT heat-cure requirements before production use |
Do not substitute an ambient hold for the required production cure without current CHT confirmation. Store both components at room temperature and keep containers sealed between pours to hold the mix ratio consistent batch to batch. QGel 315 ships through Chemical Concepts casting and potting compounds with the rest of the CHT potting line, and full manufacturer specifications are published at CHT.
