Description
The Shin-Etsu KE1310ST kit pairs a high-strength addition-cure silicone base with CAT1310 catalyst for demanding mold making and potting work. The translucent system produces a firm, flexible rubber with low shrinkage, strong tear resistance, and clean release from detailed patterns. This package contains one 20 kg pail of KE1310ST and twenty 100 g bottles of CAT1310.
Where the Shin-Etsu KE1310ST Kit Is Used
The material is designed for molds that must retain detail through repeated casting cycles. A Shore A hardness of 40 provides useful dimensional support while 380 percent elongation helps the cured mold flex around undercuts and complex geometry. High tensile and tear values support removal from masters and cast parts without making the rubber excessively rigid.
Mixing and Cure
- Mix 100 parts KE1310ST base with 10 parts CAT1310 catalyst by weight.
- Blend thoroughly, scraping the sides and bottom of the container until the mixture is uniform.
- Use vacuum degassing when the mold geometry or surface finish requires minimal trapped air.
- Pour steadily into a properly prepared mold box and allow approximately 24 hours at 23 C for cure.
Published working time is about two hours at room temperature. Cure can be affected by contamination from sulfur compounds, amines, tin-cured silicones, and other catalyst inhibitors. Run a small compatibility test when the master, release agent, or tooling material is unfamiliar.
