Description
SikaBiresin CR94 epoxy is a 100 percent solids laminating system for wet layup and vacuum-bagged composite work. The low-viscosity resin wets reinforcement fabrics thoroughly, helping fabric layers settle with fewer trapped voids. Three CH94 hardener options provide fast, medium, and slow working-time choices so the cure schedule can be matched to part size, shop conditions, and the time required to place and consolidate reinforcement.
Composite Fabrication and Repair Uses
The system fits marine construction and repair, industrial composite parts, transportation components, aerospace tooling, and other professional laminating work. It bonds to common reinforcement fabrics and can be cured at room temperature or post-cured when the process specification calls for it. The system is suitable for above-waterline and below-waterline applications. Users should confirm the selected reinforcement, laminate schedule, hardener speed, and cure plan with the current product data before production.
Selecting the CH94 Hardener
CH94-1 is the fast option for smaller work or shorter open time. CH94-3 provides a medium working window, while CH94-6 supports larger laminates and longer placement cycles. The published weight ratio is 100 parts CR94 resin to 27 parts hardener for each standard option. Reported mixed viscosity is approximately 800 to 1,400 cps depending on hardener and conditions. Pot-life ranges vary substantially, from roughly 20 to 30 minutes with the fast hardener to about 100 to 130 minutes with the slow version.
Key System Data
- Chemistry: two-component epoxy laminating system
- Solids: 100 percent
- Processes: wet layup and vacuum bagging
- Standard hardeners: CH94-1 fast, CH94-3 medium, CH94-6 slow
- Mix ratio by weight: 100 resin to 27 hardener
- Mixed viscosity: approximately 800 to 1,400 cps
- Cure options: room-temperature cure and post-cure
- Typical markets: marine, industrial, transportation, and aerospace
Accurate proportioning and complete mixing are essential for repeatable laminate properties. Condition components to the working environment, measure by the specified ratio, scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing vessel, and transfer mixed material to a clean container when the procedure requires it.
