Description
Sikagard 706 Thixo is a one-component reactive silane impregnation cream with approximately 80% active content. It is used as a water-repellent hydrophobic treatment for absorbent concrete substrates exposed to moisture, chloride ions, de-icing salts, and marine environments. The non-sag, thixotropic consistency allows application to vertical and sloped surfaces without material loss. It conforms to EN 1504-2 for hydrophobic impregnation (penetration depth Class II) and NCHRP Report 244 Series II and IV.

Performance in Production
- Non-sag thixotropic consistency supports application on vertical and sloped surfaces without runoff or material waste.
- Ready to use. Do not thin or dilute.
- Applied by airless spray, brush, or long-hair roller including automatically fed roller.
- One coat is typically sufficient. A second coat may be applied but is usually not required.
- Coverage depends on substrate porosity. A field trial is recommended to verify penetration depth and consumption rate before full application.
- Substrate must be dry with no damp patches and free of dust, oil, efflorescence, and existing paint coatings.
- Cracks greater than 300 microns must be repaired prior to application.
- Product can be used as a water-repellent primer under compatible Sikagard protective coatings with a waiting time of 5 hours to 1 week before overcoating.
- Not compatible with limewash or cement paint.
- May cause darkening of concrete. Apply to a sample area first.
- May damage some coatings and bituminous products. Protect adjacent areas accordingly.
- Store in dry, cool conditions. Condition material between 40°F and 95°F prior to application.
- Clean tools immediately after use with Colma Cleaner. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
