Description
Chem-Set UltraLok 5310 is a two-part methacrylate structural adhesive for bonding metals, composites, thermosets, and engineered plastics. This grade uses a 1:1 mix ratio and a non-sag gel profile for structural joints that need assembly time, gap fill, and durable bond strength.
UltraLok 5310 Benefits
- 1:1 mix ratio supports cartridge dispensing and easier process checks.
- Methacrylate chemistry bonds many metals, composites, thermosets, and plastics after proper fit testing.
- Non-sag gel helps keep adhesive in place on vertical joints and larger bond lines.
- Medium working time gives operators time to position parts before fixture.
- Gap filling to 0.125 in helps handle small joint variation without flooding the assembly.
This adhesive fits shops that need a structural bond on dissimilar materials without moving to a rigid, slow-cure epoxy. It is a practical candidate for fabricated panels, brackets, composite parts, transportation assemblies, sign work, and metal bonding where a tough acrylic-style adhesive is the right fit.
Where UltraLok 5310 Fits
- Aluminum, stainless steel, plated steel, and mixed metal bonding.
- Fiberglass, thermoset, and composite panel assembly.
- Engineered plastic parts where a structural adhesive is needed.
- Fabricated brackets, stiffeners, and repair plates.
- Production jobs that need a longer placement window than quick-set acrylics.
Surface Preparation And Use
Dry fit the joint and confirm cartridge, mixer, and dispenser setup before applying material. Remove loose contamination, heavy oil, standing water, and dust from the bond area. Even when product literature allows as-received bonding on many metals, a shop trial on the real substrate is still the right way to confirm strength.
Dispense through a static mixer and discard the first small amount if the bead does not look fully mixed. Clamp or fixture the assembly without squeezing out the full bond line. For related products, browse Chemical Concepts structural adhesives.
UltraLok 5310 Technical Details
Published 5310 methacrylate data lists 1:1 mix ratio by weight and volume, working time around 8 to 10 minutes, fixture time around 18 to 22 minutes, and gap fill to 0.125 in. For broader adhesive selection context, review the Adhesive and Sealant Council.
