Cyanoacrylate (Instant) Adhesives

Cyanoacrylates (CAs) are single-component acrylic monomers that rapidly cure into a hard plastic. Also known as instant adhesives or super glues, they harden by reacting to microscopic traces of moisture naturally present on the surface of your substrates.

Because they require no mixing or specialty curing equipment, CAs are the ultimate solution for rapid assembly and repair. They form incredibly strong bonds, making them perfect for joining dissimilar materials, assembling medical devices, or performing invisible chip repairs on granite and quartz countertops.

Beyond Basic Super Glue: Specialty Formulations

Industrial CA glues are engineered for extreme environments and specific manufacturing challenges.

Low-Odor & Non-Blooming

Standard CAs can leave a white, frosty residue (“blooming”) around the joint. Low-bloom formulas prevent this, making them ideal for cosmetic assemblies and dark plastics while improving worker comfort with lower odors.

Toughened / Impact Resistant

Traditional super glue cures rigid and can shatter. Toughened (rubber-modified) grades provide flexibility, absorbing impacts, peel stresses, and vibrations. Exceptional shear strength even on rigid steel.

High-Temperature Resistant

Standard CAs break down around 180°F. Specialty high-temp formulations can maintain structural integrity up to 390°F (or up to 482°F with a secondary heat cure).

Water & Moisture Resistant

Engineered for harsh environments. These solvent-free CAs offer outstanding underwater resistance, maintaining 90% of their strength even during aggressive 85°C / 85% humidity testing.

Thixotropic Gels

True no-drip, no-sag gels ideal for vertical surfaces or highly porous materials. Excellent gap-filling capabilities (up to 0.02″) and often surface-insensitive to bond acidic substrates.

UV Dual-Cure

Cures instantly under UV light (in < 1 second) while utilizing secondary moisture-cure technology to harden the adhesive in deep “shadow” areas where the light cannot reach.

Activators & Stone Repair

In applications like wire tacking or stone chip repair, CA is fully exposed and not compressed between parts. Activator sprays instantly cure the exposed liquid so it can be immediately sanded or scraped flush.
