Description

Dispenser parts for Techcon fluid dispensing equipment cover the small hardware and inline fittings that keep a fluid supply line clean and a dispense assembly running to spec. This 1/4 NPT filter is one of those service-level components, installed in the fluid path ahead of a valve or pump to catch particulate before it reaches close-tolerance internal surfaces.

Dispenser parts specifications

  • Connection: 1/4 NPT (National Pipe Thread, tapered)
  • Function: inline particulate filtration for fluid supply lines
  • Manufacturer: Techcon (OK International / Dover)
  • Application: pre-valve or pre-pump filtration on compatible fluid dispensing setups

Inline filtration matters more on dispensing equipment than on general plumbing. A dispensing valve or pump is built to close tolerances so it can meter small, repeatable shot volumes of adhesive, sealant, or coating material. Even a small amount of debris, cured material, or packaging residue in the fluid path can score a seat, block a small-diameter tip, or throw off shot-to-shot repeatability. A correctly rated inline filter is inexpensive insurance against a much more expensive valve or pump rebuild down the line.

Dispenser parts fitment

Techcon builds several dispensing valve, pump, and 2K metering platforms that share common NPT fitting sizes, so a 1/4 NPT filter can look interchangeable across more than one system. Confirm the port size and thread type called out in your equipment’s service manual or bill of materials before ordering a replacement, since a thread that starts by hand can still be the wrong pitch or the wrong tapered fit for a sealed connection. Where the equipment manual lists a specific micron rating for the filter element, match that rating rather than substituting on port size alone, since filtration performance depends on the element itself, not just the housing it sits in.

When installing, use thread sealant rated for the fluid being dispensed and avoid over-tightening, which can crack a fitting or distort the sealing surface. Under-tightening a tapered NPT joint is just as much of a problem, since it can leak under line pressure and introduce air into the fluid path, which shows up downstream as inconsistent shot volumes rather than as an obvious leak at the fitting itself.

Replacing a filter on a fixed maintenance interval, rather than waiting for a symptom like reduced flow or an erratic shot, is the more reliable way to avoid an unplanned line stoppage. Most shops track this on the same schedule as valve seal replacement so both wear items get attention during the same service window.

Dispenser parts ordering notes

Keep a spare filter on hand with other dispensers, mixers, and nozzles service components so a routine filter change does not turn into unplanned downtime. For platform and equipment context, see Techcon’s fluid dispensing systems.
