Description
The CHT QLE 1102 is a low viscosity, two-part addition cure silicone encapsulant used to pot and protect electronic assemblies where clear appearance, low shrinkage, and controlled flow matter. The thin mixed viscosity wets out around fine components and flows into tight cavities, filling voids before the material sets. A platinum addition cure holds the reaction to no byproducts, so potted parts stay clean and dimensionally stable through cure.
Where the QLE 1102 Encapsulant Is Used
Electronics builders use this silicone to pot circuit boards, sensors, LED modules, connectors, and small power components. The transparent base lets a technician inspect a potted assembly and trace conductor routing after cure, and it accepts pigment when a colored or opaque fill is called for. Low linear shrinkage keeps stress off solder joints, fine wires, and thin substrates during and after cure, which protects parts that face vibration, moisture, and repeated thermal cycling in service.
How the Encapsulant Performs
Cure speed climbs at elevated temperature, so a production line can move parts through a short heat step instead of waiting on a long room-temperature set. Good inhibition resistance helps the silicone reach full cure even near the contaminants that poison weaker addition-cure systems. Mix the two parts by the specified ratio, degas when a void-free pot is critical, then heat cure to shorten the cycle. Once set, the cured elastomer stays flexible across a wide service range, cushioning components and sealing out humidity while staying softer and more reworkable than a rigid potting resin.
