Late March brought an opportunity for some of the Chemical Concepts’ sales team to head south to Orlando, FL to display some of our popular sign and display products at the International Sign Association Expo.

With 20,000 attendees and nearly 600 exhibitors, the ISA Sign Expo is the largest and most comprehensive trade show in the sign, graphics and visual communications industry.  We were thrilled to chat with so many of the Expo attendees and show off products that can go a long way in making their businesses more profitable and their sign installations more remarkable.

Here are a few of our sign/display products that were catching the attention of the ISA 2018 attendees.

LORD Signlok 406 (channel letter adhesive)

LORD® Signlok 406 adhesive is a two-component adhesive system designed for bonding a wide variety of prepared or unprepared metals and engineered plastics. LORD Signlok 406 adhesive can be used to replace welding, brazing, riveting and other mechanical fastening methods. This adhesive system is formulated to provide some of the highest impact and peel strengths available in a room temperature curing adhesive.

Chem-Set RTV4500 100% Silicone (channel letter adhesive)

Chem-Set™ RTV 4500 is a one component room temperature vulcanizing RTV acetoxy cure silicone sealant and adhesive that has been chemically formulated for high strength adhesion. When fully cured, this unique VOC compliant formula offers UV stability and excellent adhesion to form waterproof and airtight bonds to metal, steel, tile, fiberglass, ceramic, glass, aluminum, painted surfaces, wood, plywood, marble, plus many other common substrates. This product is specifically formulated to offer all weather performance to meets today’s Green Building Standards. Along with sign/display installations, RTV4500 is a solid choice for many applications, including  sealing and glazing, HVAC/R, plumbing,  roofing, and countertops.

SCIGRIP 2007 (acrylic cement)

SCIGRIP 2007 is a clear, water-thin, fast drying solvent. It may be applied by brush, syringe, spray, and most any other method. It forms bonds by the softening and fusion of the two surfaces in contact. Bonds made with SCIGRIP 2007 cure rapidly. Cure is effected by dissipation of the solvent. Initial bond takes place within a few minutes and is often of sufficient strength to permit handling of the bonded item. Relatively high strength is reached in 24 to 48 hours and continues to increase for a number of weeks. Joined materials will generally have the same rigidity or flexibility and other physical properties as prior to bonding.

Bonding Recommendations: SCIGRIP 2007 is recommended where a water-thin cement is desired. It is suitable and used on both large assemblies and small delicate assemblies. These include a wide variety of items: signs, large displays, lighting fixtures, housewares, electrical assemblies, decorator items and many other fabrications.

Substrate Recommendations: SCIGRIP® 2007 is formulated for rigid vinyl, and foamed PVC to themselves and to each other.
