Description
The Lord 310 epoxy with 309-2 hardener is a two-part 1:1 structural adhesive packaged in a 400 ml dual cartridge for use with a standard dual-cartridge dispenser and static mixer. Designed for assembly work that sees high temperatures, chemical exposure, and post-bake operations, this adhesive holds up to thermal cycling and corrosion-resistant coating processes that defeat lower-grade epoxies. Cured material is gray and grinds cleanly for paint or finish work.
Performance Properties of Lord 310 Epoxy
- 1:1 mix ratio in 400 ml dual cartridge (Lord OEM 3003588)
- Service temperature -40 to +400 F (-40 to +204 C)
- Resists postbakes up to 400 F (204 C)
- Outgassing resistance up to 225 F (107 C)
- Chemical resistance to dilute acids, alkalis, solvents, oils, and hydrocarbons
- Compatible with phosphatize and ELPO (e-coat) processes without bond degradation
- Low shrinkage, low water absorption, good creep performance under sustained load
- Bonds metals, rubber, urethane, and many engineering thermoplastics
Where Lord 310 Epoxy Goes to Work
Body-in-white, electric motor assembly, transit and rail bonding, HVAC manufacturing, and any metal joining operation that runs through a paint line specifies this grade because the bond survives ELPO and phosphate pre-treatment. The chemistry also bonds rubber and many engineering thermoplastics and urethanes, which makes it useful for dissimilar-material joints that need a single adhesive across the assembly. The 400 ml cartridge size keeps unit cost down for production-volume work.
Dispensing and Cure Notes
Pair the cartridge with a dual-component dispense gun and a static mixer sized for 400 ml 1:1 cartridges, such as a Lord 401-series mixing tip. Purge a short bead onto scrap before the working bead so the first off-ratio material does not end up in the joint. Clamp parts during cure and follow the Lord 310 technical datasheet for recommended cure schedules at room temperature or with mild heat assist for faster handling strength.
