Description
The Techcon 400 Series 3cc wiper piston adds a wiping edge to the standard piston design, scraping residual fluid off the wall of the syringe barrel as it travels instead of leaving a film behind. That extra edge geometry is what separates a wiper piston from a standard piston, and it matters most on thicker adhesives, RTV sealants, and gasket materials that tend to cling to the barrel wall.
Built in black thermoplastic rubber for the 3cc barrel bore, this piston is a direct fit for Techcon’s 400 Series 3cc barrels and plungers, and is dispensed as a single-unit item for shops that want to try a wiper style before switching a full production run over from standard pistons.
Why a wiper piston beats a standard syringe barrel piston
On thick or high-solids fluids, a standard piston can leave a thin residual coat on the barrel wall that shows up as inconsistent yield from barrel to barrel. The wiper geometry on this piston clears that residue as it passes, which keeps dispensed volume more predictable across a full barrel and reduces waste on higher-cost fluids.
Syringe barrel fit and compatibility
This wiper piston is sized to 3cc barrels only and is not interchangeable with other bore sizes in the 400 Series line. It pairs with the standard 3cc barrel and either a manual plunger or an air-driven dispenser, and can be swapped in for a standard piston without changing any other part of the dispensing setup.
