Description
Araldite GY 40100 is a liquid bisphenol-A epoxy resin masterbatch loaded with 2% MIRALON carbon nanotube pulp, built for formulators making electrically conductive epoxy systems. It reaches conductivity at solid loading as low as 0.01%, so the finished system keeps its mechanical properties and low density.
Araldite GY 40100 Benefits
- Conductivity at ultralow loading, down to 0.01% solids, which leaves the base formulation largely intact
- Supports conductive systems in bright colors, not just black, because the loading rate stays low
- Preserves and improves mechanical properties while holding density at 1.17 g/cm³
- Mixes without preheating, so it drops into an existing bench or production process
- Ships and stores with no special handling requirements
- Modifies readily with standard hardeners and fillers to hit your cure profile
Common Applications
- Solvent-free conductive coatings
- Conductive flooring screeds and troweling compounds
- ESD and static-dissipative floor systems
- Conductive potting and encapsulation formulations
- Bench development through production batching of CNT-modified epoxy systems
- Composite tooling and repair systems needing electrical continuity
Mixing Araldite GY 40100
Cure with polyamines, polyamidoamines, or their adducts for coatings, screeds, and troweling compounds. Medium epoxy equivalent is 189 g/eq. Viscosity at 25°C runs 35,000 to 45,000 Pa.s and the material is shear thinning, so viscosity drops as mix speed rises. Flash point is at or above 200°C. Ventilate the work area, wear gloves and eye protection, and wash thoroughly after handling. Store sealed in the original container in a dry, well-ventilated space at 36°F to 104°F, out of direct sunlight. Dispose of contents and containers as hazardous waste through a licensed waste management company.
