Description
Araldite 2028-1 is a transparent, two-component polyurethane adhesive that cures fast at room temperature and stays UV stable, so bonded joints do not yellow in sunlight. It bonds a wide range of metals and plastics with a clean, clear bond line. It ships as the 5 gallon pail resin component for production bonding.
Where Araldite 2028-1 Is Used
The adhesive bonds acrylic, ABS, polycarbonate, PMMA, PVC, glass-reinforced and carbon-fiber plastic, aluminum, mild and stainless steel, galvanized steel, glass, painted surfaces, and wood. The clear, UV-stable cure makes it a fit for display assembly, signage, transparent plastic bonding, and any visible joint that must not discolor over time.
How Araldite 2028-1 Holds Up
A bond line of 0.05 to 0.10 mm gives the highest lap shear strength on most substrates, so dispense a thin, even layer rather than a heavy bead. Fast set speeds throughput on the bench, while UV stability and resistance across metal and plastic surfaces protect the joint in outdoor and lit-display service where ordinary adhesives yellow or chalk. Store sealed at 2 to 40 C for a 3 year shelf life from the date of manufacture, and let parts reach room temperature before bonding for the most consistent cure.
